The Government Accountability Board has scheduled its next meeting for Thursday, January 13, 2011. The meeting will be conducted by teleconference.  The public can observe the meeting at the Government Accountability Board offices, 212 East Washington Avenue, Third Floor in Madison, Wisconsin, beginning at 10:00 am.

The Board is scheduled to begin its open session meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, at Risser Justice Center. 

The Board may convene in closed session on Tuesday, March 22 and will return to open session to consider any remaining open session items before returning to closed session.

Certify Canvass Statements

Judge David Deininger, designee of the Chairperson of the Government Accountability Board, will certify canvass statements at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at the offices of the Government Accountability Board, located at 212 East Washington Avenue, Third Floor, Madison, Wisconsin.

The canvass statements that will be signed are for the official results of the General Election held on November 2, 2010 for the offices of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, United States Senator, Representative in Congress, State Senator and Representative to the Assembly, and includes the results of recounts conducted in the 31st State Senate Dictrict and the 68th and 93rd Assembly Districts.

After hearing public comments, the Board unanimously adopted the following motions:

MOTION: Pursuant to §§5.05(1)(f), 227.11(2)(a) and 227.24, Wis. Stats., the Board
approves the attached Notice of Order of the Government Accountability Board
(Emergency Rule Order Amending GAB 1.28, Wis. Adm. Code) and directs the staff to
publish it.  (There was one typographical correction -- the numeral “3” did not have a cross out through it.) 

MOTION: Pursuant to § 227.24(4), Stats., the staff shall schedule a public hearing to
occur within 45 days of the anticipated publication date of the Notice of Order of the
Government Accountability Board (Emergency Rule Order Creating GAB 1.28, Wis. Adm.
Code).

GAB June 2012 Meeting

This is a regular meeting of the Board, originally scheduled for June 12.

This is the "ballot access" meeting, at which the Government Accountability Board will hear challenges to candidates' nomination papers and decide whether to grant or deny a place on the ballot to those candidates whose nomination papers have been challenged.

In addition to the meeting agenda and supporting Board materials, all the challenges themselves are posted below, as well as the candidates' answers and the two staff memos regarding the challenges.

Some challenges which contain many pages have been split into more than one file.

G.A.B. Special Board Meeting

Special meeting of the Government Accountability Board to consider challenges to candidates and certify ballot access for the May 8 Recall Election.

The Board unanimously denied challenges to the "fake Democrat" candidates in the recall primaries. See news release here explaining the Board's decision.

Attached below are the Board materials and the challenge/complaint filed against "protest candidates" recruited by the Republican Party of Wisconsin. The Board will consider the challenge at this meeting. The deadline for replies to the challenge is 4:30 p.m. Monday. The staff memo/recommendations on the challenge have been posted in the 4 17 12 Supplemental Open Session materials.pdf attachment below.
