Both of the major political parties in Wisconsin are working to provide municipalities with lists of nominees to be appointed as election inspectors for the 2014-2015 term. Even if you've never received party lists before, you may receive a list from one or both parties this fall.

Please read the attached memo which provides details with respect to appointing election inspectors from party lists, including:

  • The deadline for political parties to submit lists.
  • Determining the correct "party imbalance" for each polling place
  • Appointing from lists submitted by one or both parties
  • When using "unaffiliated" inspectors is acceptable

Also attached for your information are the letters sent to the Democratic and Republican State Parties. The letters provide information to be disseminated to the local parties regarding submission of lists of election inspector nominees to the municipal governing bodies.

If you have questions about this memo or the appointment process, please contact the Government Accountability Board at 608-261-2028 or gabhelpdesk@wi.gov.
